The murder of President Haitian Jovenel Moise has dropped the poor Caribbean people into a crisis. Temporary Prime Minister Claude Joseph, who confirmed the murder, said the police and military controlled security in Haiti.

Who is Jovenel Moise?
Moise, 53, is a businessman then chosen as President of Haiti in 2016. He served on February 7, 2017, but has led the political and security situation that deteriorated with rampant gangs and rampant and constant political tensions.

Colombian Defense Minister Diego Meroooo said at least six members of the hit squad seemed to be the former Colombian army, and that he had ordered the army and the police to help investigations.
State of siege in Haiti
Joseph, Temporary Prime Minister, has declared a “state of siege” in the country, giving himself increased strength for a period of 15 days.
Moise has arranged with decrees, without parliament, since January 2020 and has named the new prime minister, Ariel Henry, on July 5, only two days before his death.
Henry, who did not assume his duties, was the seventh Prime Minister who was named by Moise in four years and claimed that he – not Joseph – was a legitimate prime minister.
International attention
The murder of President Haiti has left the international community that contemplates the future of a country that is disturbed by political instability, poverty and natural disasters.
Worried of further riots, the UN Security Council, the United States and European countries called for legislative elections and the president to be scheduled for September 26.
The international airport in Port-au-Prince was closed to prevent the attacker escape from the country.
The Dominican Republic neighbor closed its border with Haiti and increased security along the border.
