“US withdrawal shows that arbitrary military intervention policies and the imposition of one’s values and social systems in other countries are destined to fail,” said a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Wang Wenbin, said
US policy in Afghanistan “could not be done” and destined to fail, China said on Tuesday, hours after American troops left the country that was torn war.
“US withdrawal shows that the policy of arbitrary military intervention and the imposition of one’s values and social systems in other countries is destined to fail,” said spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said Wang Wenbin.
“Afghanistan has removed foreign military work. Afghans have delivered a new starting point for national peace and reconstruction. The history of Afghanistan has opened a new page,” Wang said.
Wang did not immediately answer the question of whether China would recognize the Taliban government after US withdrawal from Afghanistan. He said China hoped Afghanistan would form a broad government and pursue moderate domestic and foreign policies.
Wang added that China will continue to maintain closely communication with all parties in Afghanistan, say Beijing will “provide support and assistance in its capacity to restore peace, rebuild the economy, fight all international organizations … and integrate into the international community.”
