Medtech Company Merill on Thursday announced that the fast antigen test used itself for Covid-19, Covifind, has received approval from the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR).
The test studied and originally developed can detect the SARS-COV-2 virus in infectious individuals and therefore can be used to test symptomatic individuals and direct contacts from the confirmed Coronavirus case as determined by the latest ICMR guidelines.
The test also gives results quickly, in just 15 minutes. In addition, tests do not have specific storage or cooling requirements. This test is priced at the price of Rs 250 and will be available as a single package that is affordable, with additional purchasing options including package 3, 5 and 25 tests.
Each test kit is equipped with testing material including a test device, one sterile nose swab and buffer tube that has been filled with hat. No additional instrumentation is needed. This kit will also contain instructions to use leaflets, specify step-by-step procedures at the disposal of giving, handling and post-use of tests, along with disposable bags.
