Canada has suspended flights from India until July 21. During that period, passengers traveling to Canada from India through indirect routes need to get the result of Covid-19 negative pre-departure molecular tests from third countries, reading government advisors.
India-Canada direct flights remain suspended until July 21, according to the global travel advisor, remembering the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) Pandemic. Those who intend to travel to Canada from India while it is necessary to order flights through ‘indirect routes’. In addition, passengers also need to be tested themselves for viruses in ‘third countries’ because Canada did not receive Covid-19 molecular test reports from India, the country’s official trip advisor.

Passengers who were previously tested positive for Covid-19 and intends to travel from India to Canada now must provide evidence of a positive Coronavirus test conducted between 14 and 90 days before departure, adviser reading. “This evidence must be obtained in the third country before the continuation of a trip to Canada. You might need to search and live in a third country for at least 14 days.”
Lufthansa Airlines, while replying passenger questions about air travel from India to Canada, also said that passengers on direct routes between countries could not travel with their flights now because the Ministry of Transportation Canada did not receive Covid-19 molecular tests conducted in India.
Regulatory Regarding Covid-19 applied by Canadian authorities came as a more interest for passengers who want to travel from India to Canada for reasons of education, professionals, or because it requires compliance with certain Coronavirus protocols in countries that are not a goal for this explorer. Certain countries can place passengers from India in quarantine for at least 14 days after arrival, thus inhibiting their time period.
In addition, many countries do not allow to enter or transit from arriving from India or from passengers who have previously tested positive to Covid-19. If the passenger tests positive Koronavirus, it is possible that they can even be sent back to their departure point.
Not all international airports in ‘third country’ have Covid-19 testing available, so passengers may need to find testing facilities elsewhere after arriving there.
Canada has also asked citizens to “avoid non-essential trips” to the northeastern part of India, especially in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland. It was also asked to “avoid all trips” to regions in these countries sharing borders with Bangladesh and Afghanistan “due to significant conflict”.
India, meanwhile, officially asked the Canadian government to lift a direct flight ban from New Delhi. The ban has occurred since April 22 and extended twice. The current ban will expire on July 21 unless extended for the fourth time by the Department of Transportation. The original April decision came when India faced the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic which devastated and was due to fear in Canada over transmission of a variant of the series by air passengers.
